Program Overview

Life Coaching International Institute offers robust Associated Certified Coach (ACC) and Professional Certified Coach (PCC) accreditation courses. Our ACC certification includes 70 hours of specific education, while our PCC certification includes 130 hours. All of our content points back to the core competencies of coaching and is designed to be academic while also being vocational and experiential.

Flexible Courses. Complete Education.

Asynchronous Courses

These courses will be given online and with supplemental material. There will be no real-time meetings or commitments. Core courses that draw on the foundations of coaching are administered in this way.

  • 25 hours of asynchronous courses will be available to those pursuing their ACC.

  • 50 hours of asynchronous courses will be available to those pursuing their PCC.

These courses will meet in real-time using Zoom. Students are expected to attend these courses at their scheduled times. This section is designed to help students dig deeper into coaching.

Synchronous Courses

  • 25 hours of synchronous courses will be available to those pursuing their ACC.

  • 50 hours of synchronous courses will be available to those pursuing their PCC.

Coaching seminars are group-formatted and happen in real time. Students will have the opportunity to meet and discuss relevant topics. These meetings are designed to allow the students to work together.

Coaching Seminars

  • 10 hours of coaching seminars will be available to those pursuing their ACC.

  • 20 hours of coaching seminars will be available to those pursuing their PCC.

Mentor coaching will be conducted in either group or individual contexts, depending on the student’s desire. This portion of the course is designed to provide feedback to the student in their coaching practicum.

Mentor Coaching

  • 10 hours of mentor coaching will be available to those pursuing their ACC.

  • 10 hours of mentor coaching will be available to those pursuing their PCC.

The Life Coaching Core Competencies

  • 1. Demonstrates Ethical Practice - Understands and consistently applies coaching ethics and standards of coaching.

    2. Embodies a Coaching Mindset - Develops and maintains a mindset that is open, curious, flexible and client-centered.

  • 3. Establishes and Maintains Agreements - Partners with the client and relevant stakeholders to create clear agreements about the coaching relationship, process, plans and goals. Establishes agreements for the overall coaching engagement as well as those for each coaching session.

    4. Cultivates Trust and Safety - Partners with the client to create a safe, supportive environment that allows the client to share freely. Maintains a relationship of mutual respect and trust.

    5. Maintains Presence - Is fully conscious and present with the client, employing a style that is open, flexible, grounded and confident

  • 6. Listens Actively - Focuses on what the client is and is not saying to fully understand what is being communicated in the context of the client systems and to support client self-expression

    7. Evokes Awareness - Facilitates client insight and learning by using tools and techniques such as powerful questioning, silence, metaphor or analogy

  • 8. Facilitates Client Growth - Partners with the client to transform learning and insight into action. Promotes client autonomy in the coaching process.

Sample Courses

Applied Life Coaching 1 & 2

Dive into the core competencies of life coaching, including powerful questions, deep listening, the coaching agreement, common coaching scenarios, and creating new awareness, direct communication, creating a climate of trust, coaching presence, designing actions/ progress, accountability, and coaching ethics. 

Neurological Coaching

How we ask questions impacts the response of the brain. By blending neurosciences with practical coaching theory, the student will have a better grasp of the chemistry of the brain. This course will enhance how the student asks strategic and probing questions during their coaching session.

Coaching Personality Profiles

This class is designed to enhance the deployment of the ICF 8 core competencies through an in-depth understanding of different personalities and personality blends. When a student understands the personality makeup of the coachee, it will enhance their ability to listen strategically and ask questions focused on the coachee’s needs.

Generational Coaching

We apply a cross-cultural contextualization model in helping diverse generations work together in the vocational environment. Ongoing coaching laboratories are also offered where students are engaged in the experiential and vocational side of coaching.

Foundations of Life Coaching

The basics of life coaching are introduced in this course. It identifies elements of the coaching relationship and equips students with coaching competencies related to presence, listening, questioning, language, formulating actions plans, and accountability. 

Internal/Business Coaching

This course explores ways to apply content-rich coaching in areas where there is a specific desired outcome from a staff member or volunteer. Various coaching discussions and distinctions that will be useful for supervisor coaches will be examined as well as how to produce results from staff with built in action and accountability.

Further, we will continue to offer ongoing support after the completion of your program in order to help you reach your fullest potential!

Our tuition includes all of the courses, content, mentor coaching, and seminars that we offer. There will be additional minimal textbook expenses on occasion for some courses.
